seealso tags within an overloads tag

Feb 27, 2008 at 3:36 PM
It appears that <seealso> tags that occur within an <overloads> section do not appear on the overload help page generated that contains the “Overload List” and “Remarks” sections. There is a “See Also” section on the page, but it will not contain any items explicitly identified by <seealso> tags. It only contains the default “See Also” values (i.e. <Class Name> Class, <Class Name> Members, and <Class’s Namespace> Namespace).

In the example below, the “AnotherMethod” reference will be included in the “See Also” section of the specific method being defined, but the “AnotherMethod” reference will not appear on the overload help page generated for this method, even though a seealso tag exists in the overloads section.

''' <summary>
''' Method specific summary.
''' </summary>
''' <overloads>
''' <summary>
''' Overload page summary.
''' </summary>
''' <seealso cref="M:SampleNamespace.SampleClass.AnotherMethod" />
''' <remarks>
''' Overload page remarks.
''' </remarks>
''' </overloads>
''' <seealso cref=" M:SampleNamespace.SampleClass.AnotherMethod " />
''' <remarks>
''' Method specific remarks.
''' </remarks>

File it in the issue tracker.
Many overload page features were broken in a certain release of the Sandcastle, I cannot remember which one.

I have created a new issue (1613 - seealso tags within an overloads tag not listed Title is required) to track this problem.
