Upgrading to the latest version breaks building via MSBuild.

description

I ran into the issue located here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8703642/mysteriously-failing-sandcastle-build-only-when-built-by-teamcity) after upgrading our build server from a previous version (mid 2011) to the current release.

The build works when manually building the project via the GUI but fails when building from teamcity.

As noted in the StackOverflow thread, you've probably got an old cache file that's out of date and needs to be purged. You'll need to find out where it's at and delete it. See the sandcastle.config file in the working folder after the build fails. Search for the CachedCopyFromIndexComponent element. The sub-elements specifying the files to index will contain the names of the related cache files and their locations.

Thanks, I'm trying that now.

That seemed to fix the issue. Can this happen automatically on upgrade (set a flag or something in the registry) as it is a pain to do this on a build server...
